Speaker profile

Who is Essi?

Essi Hellén comes on stage as a keynote speaker who changed direction in the middle of an acting career. She is a content director, an actor, and an entrepreneur, and her talks show how curiosity, failure, and a voice of your own build a path you cannot copy from a ready-made career model.

Acting took her from theatre to television and film. In 2017 she expanded into producing, writing, and directing at Yellow Film & TV. Since 2021 she has led content at Storytel, including a publishing programme built on true stories. A large production company and an international listed company taught her the same lesson: a creative vision and responsibility for results can share a working day when you know how to be with people.

Essi speaks directly, and with humour. She does not soften the career changes, or the fact that neurodivergence, in her case ADHD, has been an asset in her work. The audience leaves with a good feeling and practical insight: how to build your own path, how to meet failure, and how art and business can feed each other.

Essi also hosts events. Hosting is a different job from a keynote, and it has its own profile: Essi Hellén as a host.

Topics and presentations

01

Bold career paths and the meaning of failure

How do you build your own direction when the ready-made model is not enough? Essi talks about changing fields, learning as you go, and what failure teaches when you are willing to say it out loud.

02

Where art and business meet

Commercial work does not cancel creativity. This talk draws on her years as an actor, producer, and publisher: how a story and a result can sit in the same decision.

03

Neurodivergence as a strength at work

A different way of thinking is not a barrier to performance. Essi explains how ADHD has supported her career, and what teams gain when they know how to use it.
