Speaker profile
Antti’s career combines practical business, strategic leadership, technology, growth, commercialisation, and innovation. He has lived on five continents, worked in seven countries, and spent most of his life outside Finland. He often says that living abroad makes you value home — which is why his perspective on Finland is unique.
He has helped build new business models, led large transformation programmes, and developed organisational cultures in which people can thrive in continuous change. Work in international environments has given him a point of comparison: how the best global practices can be fitted to a local context.
Antti’s particular strength is connecting technology, strategy, and people into a practical whole. First-hand experience of five major change programmes gives his talks depth, and it keeps in view the part of change that is often forgotten: people and emotions — fear, motivation, resistance. He does not talk about technology for technology’s sake, but about how it affects business, leadership, organisations, societies, and people. In his keynotes Antti offers concrete models, tools, and examples listeners can put to work immediately. He puts complex things into plain language without jargon, so the message is approachable and still thought-provoking.
Antti Mäki is a citizen of the world and has seen how organisations in the middle of change struggle with uncertainty, rapid technological shift, and a shortage of talent. He is the father of three sons and understands the benefits of digitalisation and technology while wrestling with their shadow sides — unemployment, ethics, inequality. That personal experience makes his message meaningful: he understands the listener as a leader, as an individual, and as a member of society. Antti wants to help organisations and people see the opportunities inside change and build sustainable growth in which both the business and the people can succeed and be well.
An optimistic realist and a relentlessly curious torchbearer for change. Antti believes in potential, in good, and in what is coming. He still insists on action and on our responsibility — as individuals and as a community — to change things. In business he is a so-called tempered radical: by example he wants to move things in a better direction and stretch conventions and dusty beliefs. The environment is an important value for him, and he is an avid diver.
Diversity of thought matters to him not as an end in itself, but because it produces better results. He has seen that proven again and again while working with leading organisations.
