Pauli Aalto-Setälä

Pauli Aalto-Setälä has led both traditional media and the operations of international companies — as CEO of Aller Media and Dentsu Aegis Network, and as editor-in-chief at Nelonen and Iltalehti, among others. He has a rare ability to combine deep business skill, the ethics of journalism, and an understanding of digital innovation.

In 2012 Pauli completed an EMBA at Aalto University and furthered his leadership skills in Yale and Stanford programmes. He has also served as a professor of practice at Turku School of Economics, where he has sparred with leaders in a changing operating environment.

As a speaker Pauli is energetic, analytical, and practical. His pull comes from stories, humour, and clear tools that turn change into everyday action. Although Pauli is now also a member of parliament, his talks focus on developing people and organisations — not on politics.

In his free time Pauli lives in the Turku archipelago and enjoys nature photography, hunting, and sea rescue. That relationship with nature brings depth to his talks, in which both shared responsibility and the individual’s room for action come through.
